The Junior League of Akron is a nonprofit organization formed in 1926 that provides opportunities for women to gain volunteer expertise as well as professional skills while working on vital community projects. Our members are business owners, working mothers, professional women and stay-at-home moms – and all are full-time and part-time volunteers, coming from over 28 communities in the greater Akron vicinity, including Bath, Barberton, Brimfield, Copley, Cuyahoga Falls, Fairlawn, Green, Hudson, Kent, Medina, Norton, Peninsula, Richfield, Silver Lake, Stow, Tallmadge, Uniontown, and Wadsworth.  The League is committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women through training, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

The Junior League of Akron is currently seeking individuals interested in learning more about membership.  Two New Member Open Houses will be offered to the public during the early part of September.  Anyone interested in learning about the variety of opportunities the Junior League of Akron offers is welcome to attend either session.  Call the League office at 330-836-4905 for more information and location.
