JUNIOR LEAGUE OF AKRON ANNOUNCES FUNDRAISER: MONTE CARLO MAGIC!
The Junior League of Akron is pleased to announce its spring 2008 fundraiser – Monte Carlo Magic! Generously sponsored by Akron Children’s Hospital and Brennan, Manna & Diamond and supported by Community Sponsor WONE 97.5 The Home of Rock n Roll. Radio personality T.K. O’Grady will serve as celebrity emcee for the festivities. Guests will enjoy an evening of casino-style entertainment while supporting the Junior League of Akron and the charitable organizations it supports, including Mobile Meals Adopt-a-Highrise project. The Junior League of Akron has adopted the Saferstein Towers high-rises with the mission of improving resident quality of life through specialty programs and personal interaction.
Monte Carlo Magic!, hosted by Anne Riley and Andrea Wlaszyn, will take place on Saturday, April 12th from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the legendary Tangier, located at 532 West Market Street.
This benefit will feature a range of casino games including craps, roulette, blackjack, slot machines, Texas Hold 'em and many more. Gaming attractions will be complemented by lavish hors d’oeuvres, delicious desserts and an open bar.
Members of the community are invited to attend at a $75 guest level or $150 patron level. The evening is sure to have something for everyone with the addition of a 50/50 Raffle, Chinese Raffle and an exclusive live auction. Community Sponsor WONE 97.5 has donated a Casino-Getaway Land package to be auctioned off live at the event.
The Junior League of Akron – Empowering women for positive change in our community – is a nonprofit organization formed in 1926 that provides opportunities for women to gain valuable volunteer expertise and professional skills, while working on community projects. The Junior League of Akron features a proud linage of ventures initiated and/or supported by its members, including Junior Leadership Akron, Family TIES, The Volunteer Center, Child Guidance Centers, Akron Artfest, Immunization Coalition of Summit County, The Community Wish List, Oral Health Initiative, Health Education Center, Battered Women’s Shelter, Safe Landing Runaway Shelter, Guardian Ad Litem, and Mary Day Nursery (present day Akron Children’s Hospital).
