THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF AKRON ANNOUNCES
RECIPIENT OF 2008 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD.
The Junior League of Akron is proud to announce that the recipient of the 2007-2008 Rookie of the Year Award is Jennifer Highfield of Akron. The Junior League of Akron created the Rookie of the Year Award to recognize a League member in her first Active year or in her Provisional year who has shown not only outstanding commitment to the League and to the community, but has demonstrated an immediate willingness to assume responsibility and take leadership in her service to both.
As a Provisional Jennie took an active role with the League by volunteering to serve on the committee responsible for our Art Auction/Cocktail Party. In her first full year as an active, Jennie began by taking on the chair positions for both the Public Relations committee and Funding, Underwriting and Grants committee. In addition, Jennie also served on the Monte Carol Magic Committee where she helped the group develop its underwriting package for the event. Jennie has shared her many skills regarding fundraising and development with the League and gracefully performs any task you ask of her. She is truly an asset and will continue to serve the League as both Recording Secretary on next year’s Board, and as Assistant Chair for the Focus Project Committee.
Congratulations to Jennie Highfield, recipient of the Rookie of the Year Award, for her enthusiasm and commitment to making a difference in the Akron community through The Junior League of Akron.
