THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF AKRON ANNOUNCES START OF TICKET SALES FOR DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE 2009.

Beginning Friday, April 17, 2009 tickets will go on sale for the upcoming Designer ShowHouse 2009, located at the M.A. Knight manor at 711 North Portage Path, Akron.  Tickets are $15 each when purchased at any Acme Fresh Market location, on our website at www.juniorleagueakron.org, or at the door.

Groups of 10 or more will qualify for a group sales rate of $13 per ticket by calling the Junior League of Akron directly at 330-836-4905.  “Proceeds from this event will benefit the Junior League of Akron and the charitable organizations we support,” pointed out Keri-Ann Kalavity, Co-Chair of Designer ShowHouse 2009.  “Currently our main focus area is the Mobile Meals Adopt-A-High-Rise project.”

The Adopt-a-High-Rise Project, in partnership with Mobile Meals, provides for hot meal delivery, socialization and programming opportunities at a local AMHA housing tower.  The League’s trained volunteers bring much-needed food and friendship to these largely frail, homebound, low-income seniors, providing vital services not otherwise available to this vulnerable population.  The financial success of ShowHouse 2009 will enable the Junior League of Akron to meet its goal of expanding this important program to other AMHA locations by training partner organizations

Designer ShowHouse 2009 will open on Friday, May 1st with a Preview Gala.  The home and grounds will open to the public for tours beginning on Saturday, May 9th, and will run through Sunday, May 24th, 2009.  Hours are Thursdays 10am until 7pm, Fridays and Saturdays 10am until 4pm, and Sundays 12 noon until 5pm.  Don’t miss Designer Nights on Thursdays from 5pm until 7pm when all the participating designers will be on hand to speak with you personally.  For more information please visit the web site at www.juniorleagueakron.org or call (330)836-4905.
